About ARC ARC is a 40-person design firm based in Boston, built around the idea that thoughtful design comes from listening, collaboration, and a genuine exchange of ideas. We work across athletics and wellness, education, arts, and science, often on complex projects where relationships and trust matter as much as design.
We are a small firm by choice. That means people are close to the work, close to clients, and close to decision-making. It also means there is real opportunity to shape how things are done.
We are at a moment of transition in our marketing team and see it as an opportunity to rethink how we pursue work, tell our story, and connect more directly with clients. We’re looking for someone who is excited by that opportunity and wants to help build what comes next.
We value people who are curious and creative, not in a performative way, but in how they think, write, and make. The best ideas here tend to come from people who are engaged in the work and willing to explore, test, and refine them alongside others.
The Role We’re looking for a Marketing Manager who will play a central role in how we win work. This is a hands-on position, working closely with principals and our Business Development Manager to shape pursuits, develop proposals and presentations, and bring clarity and direction to our marketing efforts.
This role is intended to grow into a Director position over time. We’re looking for someone who is ready to step into leadership, but who still enjoys being in the work, writing, shaping ideas, and working side-by-side with teams.
This is a role for someone who enjoys both the strategic and creative sides of marketing, shaping how we pursue work and how we express it.

Work with firm leadership and our Business Development Manager to shape pursuit strategy and positioning
Develop and refine proposal and interview narratives, staying actively involved from kickoff through delivery

Help bring structure and clarity to our marketing systems, templates, and workflows
Track opportunities and help maintain continuity between business development efforts and active pursuits
Oversee and coordinate project photography and videography, shaping how ARC’s work is documented and shared
Guide how ARC approaches social media as an extension of our work, how we show up externally, including LinkedIn and Instagram, ensuring our voice is consistent and aligned with our work
8–12+ years of experience in AEC marketing
A strong track record contributing to and leading successful pursuits
Excellent writing and editing skills, with an ability to find the story in the work
A creative, thoughtful approach to storytelling and communication
Comfort working directly with principals and contributing to strategy
A collaborative, low-ego approach, someone who is as comfortable doing the work as guiding it
