As a Project Architect, you will lead projects from early design through construction administration, serving as the primary point of coordination for clients, consultants, and internal teams. You will have meaningful influence over both design direction and technical execution, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the broader growth of the practice.
Primary responsibilities include:
Lead projects through all phases: schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration
Manage internal teams and coordinate with external consultants
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients
Manage, review, and produce schematic, design development, and construction documents for projects of wide-ranging size
Oversee project documentation, specifications, and technical detailing
Ensure quality control through internal QA/QC processes
Lead consultant coordination and integration of building systems
Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and professional judgment in solving architectural issues
Lead meetings with consultants, clients, and within office
Conduct site visits, review submittals, RFIs, and oversee construction progress
Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative studio environment
Compensation:
Salary range for this position is $75,000-$95,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Location:
The office is located in the heart of downtown Northampton, MA. Most staff work in the office every day, but a flexible schedule is an option after 90 days of employment.

Qualifications:
NAAB Accredited Architecture Degree (B.Arch or M.Arch)
Licensed Architect in Massachusetts (or the ability to obtain licensure in Massachusetts)
8–12+ years of experience in professional architectural office environments
Strong design sensibility with the ability to carry concepts through technical execution
Experience leading projects and coordinating consultant teams
Working knowledge of building codes, specifications, building and engineering systems
Interest in sustainable and resilient design practices
Experience working in the public & institutional realm is preferred
Proficiency in BIM and standard visualization/documentation tools
Excellent organizational and communications skills
A positive attitude and genuine excitement for design
Preferred: Experience with public or institutional projects; LEED, WELL, or PHIUS accreditation
