As a Job Captain you will work as an equal player on a team to collaborate in generating architectural detailing and project deliverables for projects ranging from $100K to $30M in educational, state/municipal and commercial arenas. While working with Project Managers, the Job Captain will participate in projects, and mentor and coach junior team members.
Responsibilities:
Organize and oversee the preparation of construction and presentation documents
Develop, in sketch form, construction details and drawings for review
Prepare and ensure accuracy of technical documents and all detailing
Ensure full discipline coordination throughout a project
Participate in the construction administration of projects, including quality control
Provide constructive feedback to project team on project issues
Prepare architectural studies and reports with project manager guidance
Develop schedules and budgets for preparation of construction documents
Maintain knowledge of latest versions of Revit
Conduct and document on-site field measures
Process and review submittals
Research building materials, permitting and code compliance
Assist with site and building analysis
Assist with construction cost estimating
Minimum Requirements:
Professional Degree in Architecture
7+ years’ experience in architectural job captain or similar architectural role, preferably in public sector
7+ years’ experience in production of drawings and specifications for all phases of design, project coordination, planning and research, and project management
Demonstratable technical fluency with Revit
Architectural registration is not required, but a path to licensure is preferred
Proven knowledge of construction details/drawings/documents
Ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional project members, share resources, work through project issues, and deliver on-time results for customers
Experience and ability to conduct onsite visits including field measurement and documentation
Ability to work from Norwell, MA office and travel to NE (mostly MA) project sites / day trips. This is not a remote/hybrid role.
Strong communication skills; written, verbal, and graphic.
Highly organized and responsive.
